Trying to Sync from my dev to prod servers in Kentico 10 and I get this error feature not available

Trying to Sync from my dev to prod servers in Kentico 10 and I get this error feature not available MVTesting. Error message:

Synchronization client error: Exception occurred: The request failed with the error message: -- --.

I don't even use MVTesting. This happens on syncing some pages not all.

Thank you

Did you start your site from a Kentico Template site? If so, there are probably remnants of EMS features which are enabled. If you imported an EMS site into your instance it might have also enabled those features. You will have to go through the settings and ensure none of the "EMS" related items are enabled.

Where would I look for those features? I inherited this project. I do know it was upgraded from Kentico 7.

You should go thru the pages that are failing and check if they have a test set up. Here is the documentation on MVTesting

What is the exact version you are using? There was also a bug fixed with similar error. Then, I would check the page template you are using - maybe you have re-used some of the sample templates and it may have had MVT setup. Please check the OM_MVTCombination table and clear it out if there is any data there.

Another option is to check the pages what template they are using, after you find out what template is used you could do the following:

  1. Delele all the problematic tasks from the list in Staging application.

  2. Delete given page template(s).

  3. Create new page template(s) and assign it to these pages.

  4. Sync it.

This would ensure there is no reference to some MVT testing. You can try it with one particular page to be sure it works and then perform this for all problematic pages.

Ran into this same error. Sites that started on an earlier version had mvc testing on two in the box templates, one being the empty template that I often cloned or used for add hoc testing.

In the end I ultimately went into the database and removed the mvc testing rows from the specific table, and that solved the problem, but try that!
