Widget wont Delete off of root page

lawrence whittemore asked on April 9, 2015 22:05

I have a master template setup on my root in kentico. With a page place holder in one of the webpart zones. The default template for the placehodler is set to my home template and it has a widget zone on it. When I try to delete a widget that I have added there it will not delete and when I try to view the widget properties they will not load.

However if I set up a different page with this template (not the root) everything works fine. Any ideas?

Is the widget added under the Design tab or Page tab?

Under the page tab. The controls to edit it come up when I hover over it but when I click the config button a pop-up comes up but nothing loads in it. and when I click the x to delete the page just flashes and nothing happens. I am in version 7.0.103

Remove your custom JavaScript from the page or master and it should work. Usually Js conflicts are what messes up kentico's admin Interface, especially in design mode. Just comment the Js out, so you can easily roll back after the widget is removed.

I removed all javascript and am still having the issue. I've also checked the frame source for errors and there doesn't appear to be any.

The issue is only on the root document that has the master template applied with the home template set as the default template in the page place holder. When I create a page and give it the home template I am able to remove the widgets.

It may be a bug. I switched to an empty default master template and have the same issue.

Have you tried to check the box to hide the webpart content? That may allow you to remove some of the items.

the widget was added on the page mode so the hide webpart content box doesn't show.

Hi,

What is the model you are using? Is it portal, ASPX or ASPX+portal? I had similar issue and the cause was an extra FORM tag in the ASPX code of the page template
