I am getting an error in the web analytics section after migrating from Kentico 7.0 to Kentico 8.0. All of the reports in the Web Analytics section of the site are broken. Here is one example error:

Event ID:

Event type:

Event time:

11/26/2014 9:42:56 AM

Source:

Report graph

Event code:

Exception type: System.Exception

Event URL:

/CMSModules/WebAnalytics/Tools/Dashboard.aspx?dashboardName=WebAnalytics&templateName=WebAnalyticsDashboard&hash=b711a717546a545d331a8cec4f0918c26ce472ff645408a4ffc635ba371e4f58

If you didn't customize any of the reports, I'd suggest creating a new instance of a v8 website and export all the reports and import them into your newly upgraded site.

Thank you for your reply. None of the reports are customized, so this sounds like a good option. Could you provide the steps for exporting and importing the reports? I tried this once before, but somehow ended up breaking the entire site.

Hello Josh,

  1. Install a clean instance of Kentico with the same hotfix
  2. Open the sites application and export website... Do not preselect any objects, go through all the sections and make sure that everything is disabled for the export
  3. And enable only Report to be exported and click on Select all button to export all the default reports as you can see on this Screenshot

Best regards, Martin

I tried the process as explaned by the response from Martin Danko, but during the import to my existing site I get the following error:

Any thoughts as to why this might be happening?
