Radio Button HTML

Hi guys!

I have created a simple list of radio buttons which I have used to filter results in a smart search. This filtering works when I use the default Kentico radio buttons (which creates just the labels) but when I am applying my custom HTML to the radio buttons when clicking on any of the buttons it refreshes the page but stays on the default value of the radio box. Does anyone have any examples of some custom created radio buttons which I could use to apply to my filtering? Or maybe an idea of what is the specific class/other information which my HTML must contain to make the connection with the filter?
