Kentico URL redirection navigation tab

Dominic Carvalho asked on February 21, 2019 15:52

Hey, I have created a macro that resolves to a URL, When using the macro in an editable text webpart the URL resolves perfectly.

I am trying to implement that macro within the URL redirect tab in Navigation, but even though the URL is resolving the URL redirect never seems to fire ?

I also then tested it by putting in https://www.google.com into the URL redirect for a test page, but when clicking on that test page it doesn't redirect to google.com, it just goes to my test page that I made.

Am I missing something with regards to the URL redirect ? Or am I implementing it in the wrong way?

Kind Regards

Hey Vasu Thanks for quick reply, I am aware of that post and I tried using it without being signed into the admin portal and that didn’t work. It still isn’t working or redirecting.

Hey vasu, And if you don’t use it on a web part but on the page itself under properties > navigation tab ?

Hi Dominic,

Tried the following scenario, set value (https://www.google.com) in URL Redirect property from Navigation tab and it is redirecting to google page when browse the test page. Macro value will not resolve in URL redirection property. Click here to view screenshot of what worked for me

##I also then tested it by putting in https://www.google.com into the URL redirect for a test page, but when clicking on that test page it doesn't redirect to google.com, it just goes to my test page that I made.##

When it navigates to that "test page you created", does it have a yellow bar at the top which says something like "you're viewing this page in preview mode, click close to exit preview mode"? If so, click close and the redirection should happen. When viewing a page in preview mode, some of the standard actions/activities don't execute.
