Kentico breaks when trying to delete webpart

Shawn Ebeyer asked on September 23, 2016 19:28

Hi all,

I'm experiencing a bit of a strange issue when trying to delete a web part from a page template.

When attempting to delete, the web part remains, and the logged in user (me, in this case) hangs for about 30 minutes. Nothing loads/saves and is really becoming tiresome.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any help would as always, be much appreciated.

Cheers and thanks,

Shawn

Are there any errors in the event log? Have you tried to manually tried to remove it on the Page Template under the Webparts section (xml content) or just design tab only?

Hi Brenden,

Events log is not showing anything out of the ordinary (although there are a bunch of macro resolver errors)...

We have not tried to remove these parts from the Page Template Webparts section, although I will certainly give that a go!

IF there are macro errors, have you recently changed the hash string salt in the web.config or upgraded your instance? With the macro errors, it would be a good start to resign you macros and see if this resolves the problem

Hi Brenden,

Apologies for the late reply. We've resigned our macros, but the issue is persisting.

Attempting to delete a web part from the design tab isn't working and we'd like to stay away from deleting anything via the Page Template > Webparts tab (xml content)...

Is there anything else you would recommend we try at this point?

Really slowing down our productivity :(

Thanks as always in advance,

Shawn

Update: Deleting cookies seems to help with this issue.

Cheers!
