How to disable webparts for a site

Alexander Toups asked on February 25, 2015 14:22

Is there a way to enable/disable webparts individually for each site within on Kentico 8 instance? Like page types and templates.

Hi Alexander,

Brenden is correct. Web parts are global objects and it's not possible to restrict which web part should be available for which site. If this is your requirement, then solution is to run these websites under separate instances.

Hi Alexander,

Have you looked into assigned objects? https://docs.kentico.com/display/K8/Managing+sites#Managingsites-Assigningobjectstosites

It seems site objects work for everything but webparts, unfortunately.

Webparts are not site specific. Mainly because you can create or set a property in that webpart to only retrieve data for that site.
