Complex Event Management System

Joshua Adams asked on June 30, 2014 09:34

Has anyone extended the built in events, or created their own system that allows for advanced features for attendees? Features including: Group sign ups, added options, partial payments, etc. Looking for some advice or guidance in this area.

Best way for implementation?

Thanks in advance,

Josh, do you have anything now that manages the events from the back end? From my experience a company or association has some sort of system that does this really well out of the box already and I've integrated the events with the CMS but never customized to the extent you're talking.

We have an events system currently in place, but we are building it out more and trying to leverage the kentico platform and abilities(forms/classes) to get all of the complex functionality. Our current system is more standard asp.net, and there is a layer that communicates with the kentico api to create nodes and events, so we are refactoring to actually change this to be kentico driven. Integrating with a third party application is a possibility, but we are in the throws of developing this system, just looking for some guidance and possibly help on implementation ideas.

Ahh I follow you now. What version are you on? If not on 8, I'd suggest moving to v8 asap as there is a lot more functionality with "products" and such. I think group registration has always been a question with Kentico but I don't see why it couldn't be build out manually and have some event handlers in place to create the additional registration records. Shoot me an email, maybe chat a bit more bkehren at gmail dot com
