CMSBreadcrumbs and home

Lennard van Diggelen asked on September 6, 2016 22:24

Hi,

I noticed that the homepage (root) isn't included within the CMSBreadcrumbs.

I saw this old post but cannot figure out if this has been implemented or not based on the documentation. https://devnet.kentico.com/forums/f47/fp2/t15881/breadcrumb-with-home-at-starting

Is it possible with Kentico 9 to show the homepage by using the available attributes? And if not, what is the best approach to make the homepage appear?

Thank you in advance!

Lennard

Easiest thing to do is add that as a hard coded element in the content before.

What's the issue with having it in the Content before property? You usually do it just once per whole project and you have full control over rendered code/link and you don't have to configure the web part with such things as text of the "home" breadcrumb or if it should point to domain root or some landing page with its own url and whether you hide it on that landing page or not, etc.

It's not an issue at all. How many times does the root of your website change? If you always use ~/ you'll have no issues whatsoever.
