Hello Raymond, Could you please provide us with a complete settings of your Smart Search index? Especially the Index tab on the Edit page of Smart Search?

Check your smart search index and rebuild it. See if this helps. Could also check the doc types search tab to ensure they are set properly.

After further review of this post, I added the culture to the smart search and it worked! Is there any documentation on setting up the schedules for the smart search? I looked at the articles, but they do not show us if there are any pre-buit tasks around smart search.
