What will be the browser compatibility on the new Kentico 8?

Victor Hugo Garcia asked on March 4, 2014 14:51

Hello friends,

I was wondering on which browsers the new Kentico 8 is fully compatible?

I know it is close to be release, but since there are IT companies that are using some older browsers, I want to make sure they could upgrade their browser on time.

Thanks.

Hello Victor,

System requirements for version 8 have not been officially released yet but I am sure latest versions of the most popular browsers at the time of a release date will be supported - that includes Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape, Safari, etc.

You should be able to find all this information in documentation for version 8 once it is released.

Best regards, Filip Ligac

I'd hope IE 8 is done! XP support is dropped in April and most business are also moving away from XP for support/security reasons which means IE 8 goes away!

On the other end of the spectrum, I hope that IE11 users won't have to use compatibility mode in order to use the editor!

and also if we are using the pre-built widgets and web parts are they compatible with IE 8 and 7? or all changed to start from IE 9+?
