Using smart search on Kentico 10 MVC

Dragoljub Ilic asked on December 19, 2016 12:44

I tried to implement smart search on Kentico 10 MVC but without success. Each time I get empty list of items. I used this article as referent point for implementation but still got empty list. Only step that I skipped is related to web farm.

Soo my question is, can smart search work on Kentico 10 MVC without web farm? And if can, does I need any other configuration that wasn't noted in documentation?

Smart search indexer working. Tested on 'search preview' in kentico instance.

Thanks, Dragoljub

Hello, I would recommend you to check out our documentation here: https://docs.kentico.com/k10/developing-websites/developing-sites-using-asp-net-mvc

If you are following the officially supported setup, Web farms are crucial as you need synchronization mechanism between your MVC application and Kentico (both use same db but they somehow need to be notified that the other app made changes to it which is crucial for Smart Search functionality)

Hi Jan, Thanks for your time. Sorry for late response, I will continue to investigate this and try to integrate it with web farms.
