Upgrade path from 7 to 8.1

Our company has yet to upgrade from version 7 to version 8. However, I see version 8.1 is being released soon. Will there be a direct upgrade path from version 7 to 8.1?

What hotfix are you running? If you go past 7.0.85 you will have to wait until 7 is no longer being hotfixed. You should be able to use the tools provided to perform your upgrade. 8.1 is a minor fix and from what I've read, can be handled with the KIM tool.

Hello Vince,

I would also recommend you to upgrade to Kentico 8 as first, so you will still have enough time to test the upgraded site before upgrade to Kentico 8.1 will be released.
