Uni selector return column

Stephen Rushing asked on April 15, 2015 20:51

If our project requires staging and/or uses web farms, do we need to configure Uni selector fields to return the GUIDs, or will IDs automatically be resolved for each environment?

ID's will suffice. The staging engine handles the rest of the synchronization based on the GUID.

Great, and how about standard import/export? I'm thinking of a scenario where you export all instances of a Page type that have an ID-reference Uni selector. If the corresponding records are not also exported, will the engine know how to match those IDs up to the existing objects in the environment where they're imported?

If you haven't done major changes (delete a site and add it back with same code name, things like that) in your production environment, there should be no issues. I've been using content stating since v5 and in a web farm environment since late version 6 without issues.
