Manmath Kulkarni asked on August 3, 2017 13:41

Hi,

I have STG and PROD servers for website and need to implement SYNC.

I have following queries.

  1. Is it possible to SYNC between servers on different networks.
  2. Do Kentico use any specific POR for SYNC that can be mentioned in Server service URL: in Staging application.
  3. Getting this error Unable to connect to the remote server

If anyone have faced similar and resolved it. Kindly let me know.

Best regards,
Manmath

Hi,
1. Yes, it is possible to sync between different networks
2. There is nothing special used for this web service - HTTP/HTTPS and port set for the web site is used.
3. You need to ensure that the server listen to each other. When you are on the source server, are you able to browse the target server web site?

Hi Juraj,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have checked with both Http/Https but its not working. I am not sure which port knetico SYNC service uses and how to use it.

On source server I am not able to browse target server website.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Hi,

I meant that if your websites are set to use HTTPS, the service is using it as well. There is nothing special about this service page. By the port number - by default it is 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS however this depends on your IIS settings.

If you cannot browse the site from the source server this means there is no direct communication between the servers. Please check this with your IT and ask them to ensure that the server are listening to each other.
