Synchronization Timeout Failure

Joseph Huddleston asked on March 28, 2019 19:54

I sync across five landscapes.

The last few times I have synchronized tasks under certain pages I get a timeout error that reads:

Caused exception: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

The error occurs during "DELETE FROM Staging_Task WHERE ([TaskID] IN (..."

The problem is when this occurs my staging tasks disappear and a staging task is not created in the target landscape that would sync the next landscape.

What has happened?

edit: I should mention the last sync was only 50 tasks and my timeout is 1200.

What version of Kentico are you using and how many tasks are currently in the Staging_Task database table?

Version 12. It was less than 50. Right now, zero. This occurred more often when there was more tasks.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the results as all the tasks have synced. The areas that experienced the problems I ended up synching the subtree with was time consuming.
