Smart search index cannot rebuild immediately

GTEK IT DEV Team asked on October 17, 2018 09:45

I created a smart search index. But when i rebuild it i saw message Rebuild task has been scheduled. It may take a few moments for the task to be executed.

Even when i set key CMSProcessSearchTasksByScheduler in AppSettings to false

I don't know what i'm missing. How can i resolve this issue?

Thanks !

Check the Search Tasks on the left side of the search index? are there any tasks stock there blocking new tasks to be processed?

The scheduler is only available with an EMS license AND it has to be properly registered on the server to function. So it may not matter that you've added that key, it still won't process it if the above aren't met.

Rui Wang: I don't know where top find the Search Tasks

Brenden Kehren: I'm using the EMS license, and i added the key in the CMS. The strange thing is when i deploy application on our own server. Every thing works find. But when i deployed the application on our test and live server on Azure Vitual Machines. The rebuild function not work.

Did you properly register the services? You can check by running the Kentico Installation Manager.

I cannot find CMS.Search.SearchTaskInfoProvider.RunInternal worker thread on my live server. Is this worker thread process the search index tasks?. If yes how can i make it run?
