Permissions for marketing automation

Dragoljub Ilic asked on October 3, 2017 17:10

I created new role called 'Advanced marketing manager' and I want to give all necessary permissions related to marketing automation. I checked and configured everything from this link. User is assigned only to this role and have 'Editor' privilege level but can not edit STEPS. Everything else works fine except this part. When user click on edit, he/she see '403 Access denied' page. What could be root cause of this issue?

Thanks, Dragoljub

You need to enable the "edit step dialog" UI which is buried little deep.

Go to edit that role again, then UI personalization > Administration > CMS > Administration > Configuration > Workflows > Workflows > Stpes (the second one) > Edit step dialog, and click select all for that.

Do you have UI personalization turned on? Go to Roles application, check UI personalization and expand the UI for the Marketing automation application section.

I'm seeing something similar to you, Dragoljub. The UI permissions mentioned by Rui are all set as correctly as far as I can see. As soon as I promote my user to Administrator instead of Editor, I can edit the steps just fine. That could be a short-term solution? I'll keep looking for where that persmission is set, it may just be that Editors simply can't do that, but i hope that is not the case.

Wow, Rui - you're not wrong in saying that they're buried a little deep! That seems to do the trick for me.

May be its all tricky or there is really something curious to know about this managerial process. Anyhow I am not in touch with these things a lot nowadays. But your australian writings review post is useful for others I guess.
