Missing buttons in CKEditor

Mike Bilz asked on January 17, 2017 23:51

Hello Kentico Team,

None of my WYSIWYG tool bars contain the "Paste From Word" or "Insert YouTube Video" buttons, even though they are approved for all users in the Permissions tool, and listed in the CKEditor config file.

Is there another step I am missing in order to get these buttons to appear to my editors? Do I need to activate them somewhere in the settings, or download the tools separately?

Thanks in advance,

-mike

As Trevor said, it depends on the toolbar set you are using. You can see which items appear in which toolbar in the following file location - CMS\CMSAdminControls\CKeditor and open the config.js file.

Additionally you can add your own toolbar in here, but remember it is a Kentico core file you would be updating, so keep it tracked for when you upgrade / hot fix.

Thanks Ilesh

It can depend, if you are adding an Editable Text webpart, then there is an area to put what toolbar it is (default, full, basic, etc). That can have an affect.

There's also a web.config key depending on your kentico version that you can set what "default" resolves to if you set the toolbar to default.

Also try resigning your macro keys, just in case.

If you changed the toolbar as mentioned in the other answers, make sure you have cleared your browser cache, sometimes the toolbar doesn't update until you do.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I was able to solve the issue by adding the missing buttons to the "Default" toolbar.
