Is there a way to use advanced workflow to manage module classes or custom table items? (The same way the marketing automation manages contacts). Is there API example?

Thanks for response.

Hello Jan,

Brenden is right. In the Kentico workflow could be applied to the Documents/pages only. Check the Documentation: Configuring workflows, where you can read:

Kentico allows you to organize and control the process of creating, updating and publishing documents on your website by applying workflow.

Best regards, Martin

What version are you using? Also Advanced Workflow is only available with an EMS license, not ultimate or base.

Target version will be version 8 - edition EMS. There is an example of starting process for contact via API - Examples/Online Marketing/Automation - 11.

Question is: can it be used for other object types? Is there web part to display "pending" objects (similar to Pending Contacts)?

Hello, thanks for all answers. Maybe I was wrong about the term "Advanced Workflow" which is used in context of document management. Maybe term Automation is more accurate.

As I found out, I am not the only one who desire this feature: http://ideas.kentico.com/forums/239189-kentico-product-ideas/suggestions/5409093-the-advanced-workflow-has-so-much-capability-it-s

I think API and database structures are already prepared (in fact I started workflow for cms.user), but there is no UI to process such items.
