Naresh Ede asked on July 24, 2017 07:19

we have so many modules in kentico interface. Actually i want to disable some modules which i don't want.

And in case i need those modules in future, i can able to enable those modules.

So tell me that kind of enable/disable flexibility is there in kentico or not ?

if there please guide me how to do that.

There are a couple of ways to get there:

  • go to particular module settings under the Modules app, open sites and remove sites, those do not need that module
  • go to particular module settings under the Modules app, open User interface and set visibility condition to false under general tab
  • Configure permissions/UI personalization, so only particular roles can see/access particular module

I'd go with the last option as it is most flexible and improves UX for different roles. First two options are acceptable in case you don't need that module at all, however system might use some module on the background, so you don't even know it is being used, so be careful with it.

If you have a specific license like a Base license, you can remove all the other modules from your UI with one checkbox in Settings. There is a setting to hide all unavailable UI options.

I'd not recommend uninstalling any modules, this causes a LOT of problems later on when applying hotfixes and upgrading. That should only be a LAST resort.
