How to Design A Subscription Confirmation Email

I'm trying to understand how the marketing email system works in Kentico 12. I understand that I am supposed to add widgets into the template, but this whole system is extremely confusing to me. I am just trying to send a simple email that says "Thank you for subscribing" and I don't see anywhere that I can enter the text. I have created an "Email Feed" and assigned an email template to it.

Two questions: 1.) How can I test send a subscription confirmation email? I don't see any way to send a test other than actually using the control on the actual website.

2.) How can I enter text into an email widget? I've got the widget maybe added into the template but I can't figure out how to actually add any text into it

Is there a quick guide on just creating a text based subscription confirmation in Kentico 12? The documentation is really confusing. The doc for creating a widget just says "write the widget code" but they don't really give a full example of how the whole thing ties together.

Yeah I did look through that documentation that was the first thing I did but I've been unable to edit any of text and I also can't add widgets into the builder. I'll try again

Emails use templates, I'd suggest starting with the template first and make sure it is assigned to the email you're trying to send out. Widgets are site specific so be sure they are added to a site before trying to add to the email.
