Free version: The licence limit for feature Editors was exceeded. Please check event log to get more

Jonathon Marshall asked on July 30, 2014 09:59

Hi all

Using the free version - I am trying to delete or edit the users which are automatically installed in the free version, but it comes up with the following error:

Free version: The licence limit for feature Editors was exceeded. Please check event log to get more details.

No issues in the event log.

I need to clear out all those users as obviously someone has passwords etc and will be able to use them to log into my site.

Regards

JM

How many users do you have? Are you trying to delete an administrator or the public user?

Hello Jonathon,

as you can see in the Feature matrix, you are allowed to have only one editor in the Free edition of Kentico.

Hi There Thx and sorry for the delay

I am not adding ANY users or roles - I am deleting the ones which were populated at installation

And not the generic users but the specific list of users

i.e Andrew Jones Ben Ramsey

It appears to let me only remove one before showing license error

Hello Jonathon,

So I suppose you have installed one of the example website, e.g. Corporate site. Regrettably the example websites will not work correctly with the Free license due to the license limitations as these websites were designed to demonstrate the advanced functionality of Kentico which is not available in the Free edition. You should start with the Blank site or write an e-mail to support@kentico.com and ask for a trial EMS or ultimate license key.

Best regards, Martin
