Gaurav Saxena asked on August 9, 2021 14:17

I am getting the Failed to load dialog parameters error while assigning security to page users/roles. Also while adding user to specific role. See the link for error snapshot and brief details. Error Snapshot

Error Image

I am using Kentico 13 + MVC Core setup.

Let me know if any other info needed.

Thanks!!

What is the exact version, including hotfix, please? It seems that the query string hash code does not match for some reason. What is the network setup? Are you using any custom headers in the web.config file or any other customization on the admin app side?
Do you have the following in your web.config: < httpCookies requireSSL="true" / > If so, are you accessing the admin using HTTPS? (also, the presentation URL should use HTTPS)

What is set for the sessionState element in the config file? Where and how are you storing session and isn't it possible you set it to cookieless="true" ?

Is there any SSL offloading?

Thanks for your response. Please find comments below:

Kentico version : v13.0.31

Hosting : Both Live and Admin site is setup on Azure as an app service.

Customization : No customization in Admin panel.

Are you using any custom headers in the web.config : No

Web.Config : There is no such setting done in webconfig. infact below is the one that is setup. SessionState - cookieless="false"

Is there any SSL offloading? Dont think so. Whatever Azure provides OOB.

Just to add it was working earlier but something has changed recently I am nots sure what but all dialog boxes stopped working and gives the same error.

Looks like some setting got disturbed.... is there any way to reset Kentico (if this will help in quicker resolution)?

Nope its still not working. Please suggest what all should I explore to deep dive into it?

What is the link above? It don't talk about this issue. Is it added in error?

I would try restarting Kentico app and also check the Event log to see what changed recently and also the Azure app application insights or other logs to see what changed. Or, if you have some recent backups, I would try restorig the last known working backup.
But, what is the exact error please?

I tried to restore from backup but it didnt work and same backup working fine on another environment. When I checked the console it shows this :

/CMSMessages/Error.aspx?title=dialogs.badhashtitle&text=dialogs.badhashtext&hash=9e533bb8e0d7ea8b81030ec750f14c6bc4699a1907c6781f0206628ad7c356ad&cancel=1

I have validated that the hashsalt is same on admin as well as Live site.

Please suggest!!

What is the difference in the environment setup? If the same code and DB works somewhere, then the issue is most likely related to the environment setup or something is different there.
