Creating a 'View in Browser' button in an email template

Matthew Neal asked on December 27, 2017 01:29

Hi all,

I have a client that wants us to integrate a 'view in browser' button on their email marketing template. From what I can see, Kentico doesn't have this feature in built. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how this can be achieved automatically? I can easily send myself a test and copy / paste the HTML code into an .html file, and that works well, however, I don't want to have to do this with every email they send out to clients.

Thoughts?

Any chance they can upgrade to Kentico 11? That feature was added in that version I believe, but check out the license limits as well.

Otherwise it gets a little completed in V10 where you have to create a dynamic link to a page that would render the email template, passing along any macro context needed to display properly.

Thanks for your answer - I should have checked the Kentico 11 docs! We are looking at upgrading the site, but there's a lot of work to do before we upgrade it, so I guess this project will go on hold until we do the upgrade. Thanks for the quick answer!

You can use Dynamic/Page based Newsletters but they are removed in v11. They build content from pages and allow the newsletters to be viewed online as well just like regular pages.

But I agree with Trevor, upgrading is best to get that functionality.
