CMS.USER customization preserved with Kentico upgrade?

Our cms.user table has been customized with additional fields to persist user-specific data. These fields were specified via Modules > Membership > Classes > User > Fields

It appears the new fields we've defined are added to the built-in CMS.USER table. What happens when a Kentico upgrade/hotfix involves updates to the CMS.USER table? How do we ensure our customization gets preserved?

Hello,

I'm not almost sure, but Kentico preserve your changes, but make sure you have valid backup :)

It will be preserved. Your upgrade may fail though based on how you added the field(s). If you used the UI to add the fields, your changes are far greater to have success then if you were to add it manually.
