Checkout wizard page type

Jeewani Jayasuriya asked on May 18, 2020 12:22

Hi I am trying to setup checkout wizard in Kentico 12. I am following the document https://docs.kentico.com/k12/e-commerce-features/configuring-on-line-stores/checkout-process/configuring-steps-of-the-checkout-process#Configuringstepsofthecheckoutprocess-Settingupthecheckoutwizard

In that document under "Setting up the checkout wizard" ,step 2 it says "Edit () the Checkout wizard page type." But I can't see "Checkout wizard" in Page type.

Is it something I have to create by myself or from where I can find that Page type?

Thank you!

Jeewani

Hi Jeewani,

The documentation from your example says (a bit higher up the page)

If you create the checkout process, you can either use the predefined Checkout wizard and Checkout step page types from any of the e-commerce sample sites, or create your own Checkout wizard and Checkout step page types from scratch (see Creating wizards on websites).

So what you can do basically, install a sample Dancing Goat or eCommerce Sample website, export Checkout wizard and Checkout step page types and import into your solution. Or write your own from scratch.

Hi Dimitry,

Thank you for reply. I already have this site http://31.221.19.179/ Is it possible to add the dancing goat to existing site interrupting the current site? I can see "Checkout step" under page types but not "Checkout wizard"

Thanks!

Yes, you can install a sample website on the same instance of Kentico. Please follow the instructions from this guide and select Use web template - Dancing Goat or E-commerce Site. Once you installed it, you can go to the Page Types application, select checkout page type you need, edit it and on the Sites tab assign your original website as well. Page Types are multi-site objects, so you just need to fix Sites assignment.
