Cant add new type below root

When I make a new page type I go to "Allowed parent page types:" in the settings and add "cms.root" which is same type as top level in my tree. But when I try to add the page there its not listed? The page type is added to the site and I can add it under other sections ok. Is there another step for root?

Hi,

You should check is any scope defined for the root path. Go to Page Types application and select Scopes. If you can see root path there, edit it and add desirable page type and save it. This should allow you to add different page types under root.
