Boost a Page in Kentico Search Results

Mike Bilz asked on January 4, 2021 20:23

Hello Kentico Team,

I have a boolean field I've added to my MenuItem page type called "Promote in Search", and I am trying to use it to automatically boost the relevance score of the page no matter what the search term is.

I am using the following Search Condition: PromoteInSearch:(true)^3

However it does not appear to be having the desired effect, promoted pages are registering lower scores than other pages with the same terms. Is this the wrong field to enter this code into, or am I missing something from my condition?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Juraj.

Turns out it was a configuration issue. Always make sure that your custom fields are searchable!

Thanks again.

I would try boosting it even more and/or try using values 1 for true, 0 for false.
