Blogs - Notification to blog moderators email template by site

Kelly Shepard asked on May 6, 2016 01:56

Site A has a blog and Site B has a blog. I need to have custom email templates for the email to the blog moderator. I have deleted the global "Blogs - Notification to blog moderators" template and created a template under each site with that same name. However, when testing I get an error in the event log that the email template was not found. Is there another step I need to take to associate the correct template to site?

The best thing to do is leave the global template there and create site specific templates with the same code name as the global one. I believe the system will take the site specific template based on the global template if it exists.

Hi Kelly,

As per this link while creating site-specific templates you follow this procedure.

"Site-specific - allow you to override the global templates for specific websites. You need to select the appropriate Site and create a new template with a Code name that matches the corresponding global template."

Can you try restoring your global template recycle bin and then see? Would you mind sharing the entire error log that you are getting?

Thanks, Chetan

Could you please do a quick check if the template really exists for your site?

Did you try to restore deleted global template from Recycle bin and then tried?

Thanks, Chetan

Yes Brenden, that what I'm trying with Kelly. I guess the problem is coming because she has deleted the global template.

I believe once she will restore that template from bin the problem should resolve.

Thanks Chetan
