I have a user who has signed up for an account on our website. This user can be added to just about any role, but the "Authenticated User" role, which should be assigned by default for any logged in user, is unavailable. It isn't even showing up in the role list when I try to add it to the user through the Users>Roles section.
Any idea what might be going on here, and how to fix it?
The "Authenticated User" is not technically a "role" it's a status of a user. If someone is authenticated, they will become an authenticated user. When they log out, they will become a not logged in user.
As Brenden said - this is a generic role like the Everyone role - it is more like a status and no particular users are or can be assigned to these generic roles.
Ok, thank you. I checked a handful of other accounts and they all had the role assigned, which means they were logged in. :)
