Hi Everyone,

I've critical issue and your help is required urgently.

We have one working website which suddenly stopped displaying images and content for UI culture strings on front end pages. There is also issue to load media images and js scripts.

When we go to the physical directory from where its accessing images and static data, images and data exists there. We have checked MIME types and IIS settings that is fine, we have not assigned any user permissions or image extensions for pool in IIS.

When we reset IIS and its started loading the content. Currently Kentico 7 version is being used. If anyone can suggest on this what can be root cause of this problem or any relevent configuration we can try because it happens suddenly with working website.

Thanks In Advance

When it stops loading images have you verified if images' URLs are correct? If they are what error are you getting? 404? Do you see any errors in the event log?

Hi Roman,

Thanks for your reply.

There are no entries in event log regarding this, only images/JsScripts/fontfiles are missing with 404 and UI cultures display key instead of value like 'LogonForm.LogOn'.

This happens suddenly and IIS reset fix it but we need to investigate the cause for this because IIS reset is not permanent fix for this. When we reset IIS or update web.config with empty space or enter then it starts loading the images/JsScripts/fontfiles/UI cultures without changing any paths. It started loading the images/JsScripts/fontfiles/UI from the existing paths where its having the issue for loading before reset IIS.

Its strange because when we go to the physical path from where its accessing images/JsScripts/fontfiles and files exists there.

Not a single file deployed and not any changes implemented in admin section, it happens suddenly.

Thanks In Advance

What version of Kentico are you using? Are there any changes, steps or anything else is done before the issue occurs? It looks like the application is crashing for some reason and app restart fixes it. Are there any errors in the Windows event viewer? Have you considered upgrading to newer version and/or latest hotfix for your current version, if not already on the latest?

What are the other steps - not only deployments or changing configuration. Maybe some sequence of steps causes the application to crash. Since you are using very, very old version, upgrade to newer version of Kentico is recommended.
