Using Roles & permissions to allow editing access to single pages only

Alan Isaacson asked on November 2, 2015 15:59

I currently have a site in development that has Section A, containing sub sections 1,2,3 & 4. I have been able to setup editors than create and publish within their respective section, however I would also like to be able to offer a single page for editing to a single user while denying them access to edit any other pages. So far whenever I try this they are able to modify any page in a section or nothing at all.

Eg. Page is created by editor Bryan in section 1. He wants to allow Susan access to edit this page only and only browse tree for section 1. Stephen creates a page in section 2 that he wants Micheal to edit and only browse tree for section 2.

It could be that in the future Susan is allowed to edit a page in Section 2 for Stephen also.

Hi Alan,

Could you please describe your current permissions setup? Especially the page level permissions. Using these permissions you can be pretty particular what user or role has/has not permissions to given page.
