Use Kentico8 as an authentication service

Hi,

is it possible to use Kentico 8 as an authentication service? We want to create an external tool which is only linked as inside Kentico. This tool provides a REST API and some forms to edit some data. We want to use "single sign-on" for Kentico users (CMS Editors) we also want do secure the REST API with Kentico users.

Having reviewed the documentation links posted by Martin Danko on 12th June 2014, I can confirm that the answer is no.

Kentico can use a third party authentication service (an identity provider or security token service), but Kentico itself does not act as an identity provider, or a security token service.
