Upgrading to V12 Licence Key

We are currently going through an upgrade process (V9.X to V12) and looking ad pre-generating new keys ahead of time (lots of sites to do this for)

My question is will the old sites continue to function if I do the Upgrade to latest version, or will I need to generate all new keys?

This is our first upgrade so not sure how this works and not finding much additional documentation

To get back to your question, yes you need licenses for each version as your installation needs to get back online and perform some additional changes between each and every version.

Hi Daniel,

It depends on the licensing model you're using. If you just bought Kentico 9 version with no maintainance you'd need to buy a new license for Kentico 12 (this is m understanding may be worth checking with the official support). But if you have maintainance, you can just upgrade your existing license keys on the client portal.

When you upgrade the license from 9 to 10-11-12 you will see licenses per each version for the same domain and they all will be working with appropriate Kentico version.
