Hello,

We are getting a blank screen while trying to take export of our website. Anything we missed in configuration?

Thanks, Chetan

Hello Chetan,

My initial suggestion was confusing a bit and not precise entirely.

Actually what you need to do is delete the "ImportExport" folder entirely, not just files in it.

Hopefully this will finally solve the issue for you.

Hello Chetan,

This issue is usually caused by some temporary files still hanging in a "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Kentico8\CMS\App_Data\CMSTemp\ImportExport\" folder on a web role machine.

However, deleting any remaining files from there usually helps and export/import starts working again after that.

Thanks Filip, I will try this, however we are facing this on a new instance also. Which we launched a week back and there was never any import export done on it.

Hello Chetan,

Well, as I mentioned, it is the most common reason for that but there could also be other reasons causing the behavior. The main problem is that the error message is hidden on that page so it is a little harder to address it.

However, at first I would recommend that you try the method I suggested and then send an update if that was the case or not.

Hello Filip,

I tried this however it didn't work out.

Can I inspect elements using chrome developer debugger and get the message?

Thank you!!

Thanks Filip this worked for us. However now once export is done we are unable to download file. It shows file not found error. We are on azure instance.

Neither I was able to find file in export folder of instance ftp server.

Thanks

Just for a future reference, reason why the exported package in Chetan's case was not located on FTP server bound to the Azure Website was the fact that he had an external blob storage configured for his site. Under such a setup, packages are stored on the blob storage in a ~/cmsstorage/cmssiteutils/export/ folder by default.
