Unable to run a Kentico Solution locally

I am working on a website that has been recently updated from Kentico 8.2 to Kentico 9 and then from Kentico 9 to Kentico 10. According to the upgrade logs, all upgrades were successful, however, Kentico SmartSearch is no longer functional following the upgrades Error: "Error loading the WebPart 'SearchBox' of type 'SearchBox'".

Hi Ladner!

Please check the following:

  • Have you done full clean and rebuild of your solution utter upgrade? Do you have any warnings or errors?
  • Did you do any customization of Kentico SearchBox web part on Kentico 8.2 or 9? Can you see this web part in Web Parts application? Check this web part ascx file it has no errors.
  • Have you tried to re-sign macroses?

Are there any more details logged in the Event log? Does the code file for this web part exist in the solution? Both ascx and cs files.
