Twitter rss thing

lawrence whittemore asked on November 16, 2017 21:11

I'm trying to get this rss into my site http://twitrss.me/twitter_user_to_rss/?user=lawrence_evil (not really this one, a different user) but get an error. "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized."

any thoughts?

Must have some other issues going on as I added it to a test page on my site and it worked just fine. Is this coming from your server or the twitrss.me site? I used the RSS Datasource webpart and hooked it up to a basic repeater webpart.

Thanks for the input, I'm also using version 6 of kentico... not sure if that makes a difference. The other thing is it is being used on an intranet site. I don't think that would be an issue, but i'll keep looking into it.

I don't believe the RSS datasource code is much different (than the obvious API changes) from the current version, meaning I don't believe it's requiring some sort of authentication. But since it is on an intranet, I wonder if there is some sort of authentication to access outside internet from workstations or some other limiting firewall request that needs to happen?

It is more a security question, i.e. your firewall wont let to connect from your intranet server with Kentico 6 to outside (internet) server. Not the best picture, but normally your company www servers for internet users located in the DMZ, all other servers on LAN.

Technically all request from internet can go to DMZ and back, but not to LAN. Again depends on your network set up, firewall rules etc, you have to ask your admin.
