Smart Search Transfomation of Custom Table

David Pearson asked on January 7, 2015 17:16

I am researching the Smart Search functions in Kentico. I am trying to figure out how to add and use a transformation for the custom table in the main Smart Search for the Corporate Site example. Currently the main search control does not use any transformation for the custom table I can tell.

David, the smart search engine does not use any of the custom table or page type transformations for the specific object you're searching on because it makes the data "generic" in a sense so you can use a single transformation for all of them. Check out the documentation on smart search transformations.

I'm not sure if I understand. The Smart Search example for Custom Tables in the Corporate Site does have a spot for the transformation. Are you looking at the search box on the main page? Search box web parts will just re-direct to a search results web part. If you navigate in the content tree root > examples > web parts > custom tables > custom tables with smart search, look at the Search dialog with results web part, you'll find the transformation.
