Smart search not going through blog articles

Eric Conklin asked on October 15, 2020 16:38

I have a smart search page that is going through my pages pretty well but is completely ignoring all of my blog articles.

I have added the directories to the index like so in the indexed content tab:

CMS.BlogPost /Western-Reserve-CareLink/April-2012/% Allowed

CMS.BlogPost /Western-Reserve-CareLink/April-2013/% Allowed

CMS.BlogPost /Western-Reserve-CareLink/April-2014/% Allowed

CMS.BlogPost /Western-Reserve-CareLink/April-2015/% Allowed

CMS.BlogPost /Western-Reserve-CareLink/April-2016/% Allowed

Hospice.Page;CMS.MenuItem;CMS.File /% Allowed

And so on for all respective months.

When searching, I cannot see any blog posts. Any ideas why? I want user to be able to search the blog posts as well as the pages. There is a ton of content missing if we do not address this.

Are the CMS.BlogPost fields marked as searchable on the Page Type?

Does this happen in the Search Preview tab as well? Or can you see them there?

I'd also try adding in CMS.BlogMonth and CMS.Blog to see if that changes the behavior.

Also you can use the third party tool LUKE to look at the contents of the actual Search Index itself to make the data is in the index or not (and remove any issues with the Kentico site displaying it).

It happens in both the preview and the smart search page.

I have tried adding the blog and blog month but no link. I cannot find anything within the carelink blog at all on our website.

I verified the blog post page type has searchable fields such as title, summary etc. Still not coming up. Very confused.

Is the search index itself associated to the site you are working on on the Sites tab?

Also what index type is the index ?
