Single Multilingual Document can have Different Parent in different Culture

Ashish Narnoli asked on March 27, 2014 11:23

Hello All,

Is it possible to have different Parent Document for a Multi-lingual Document in different cultures?

Let Suppose i have 1 Document ie; DOC A

In GB culture, DOC A belongs to Parent 1 (Parent 1 is specifically for GB culture only under some other parent document).

And in US culture, the same DOC A belongs to Parent 2 (Parent 2 is specifically for US culture only under some other parent document).

I am using Kentico v7.0.37

Suggestions are highly appreciated. :)

Best Regards! Ashish Narnoli

Hello Asish,

I am afraid such a scenario is not possible in Kentico because a parent document is assigned to documents based on their NodeID which is the same for each culture version (only their DocumentID changes). That is why there is no way to distinguish between different culture versions of a document when it comes to assigning a parent document.

If you described what you are trying to achieve, maybe we could find a workaround for that.
