We are currently using Kentico 11. What is the best method to create an SEO friendly/URL? We have tried using a page alias; however, when someone uses the Insert link > Content and navigates to the content using the menu on the left, the link resolves to the page name and not the page alias, which creates inconsistent URLs. It looks like Alternative URLs does this in Kentico MVC 12 but what is the best way to achieve this in Kentico 11 Portal?
We have made some of those changes for our Page URL path already. The issue comes because we have structured content articles where the Page name = the URL. Article titles can be detailed and rightfully contain extra words and characters. For example, the article title is "Watch Out! Hackers Are Using These Tricks to Fool Schools" which creates a long URL watch-out!-hackers-are-using-these-tricks-to-fool-schools.aspx. We would like to be able to create an SEO url that is used consistently (whether the author links to the page from within Insert link > Content or copies and pastes the URL), such as How Hackers Are Fooling Schools (how-hackers-are-fooling-schools).
Hi Mary,
Please have a look at this documentation article. It looks like Page URL path is what you are after.
Can you please see my addition to the question above? Still looking for a solution.
