Render markup as text in Field explanation text

Hi,

Is it possible to render markup as text in Field explanation text? e.g. If I try to put the text: "Rendered after the opening body tag." then the body tag is removed. I tried wrapping with pre tags with the same outcome.

Note: I am referring to tags wrapped with chevrons <> which also gets stripped from this post.

If it's removing those tags then no it's not possible. I'm guessing it's rendering that text in a label and having html like that is not valid. What I'd suggest doing is adding a space between the chevron and your tag name. Then it won't be seen as html.

Thanks for confirming Brenden. I can get by without the tags - it was more for my own OCD than UX.
