Random document web part not working

Good Day All,

When I am logged in to the admin section the random document web part works correctly however when I am not logged in the random document is always the same. Any suggestions??

There should be a cache section as well in the configuration...try setting that one to zero too.

In the webpart make sure you set the Partial cache option to 0. This should resolve your problem.

you mean in performance set Partial cache minutes to 0. If so I did it and it change once then remain on that document there after

If you change the cache configuration for your site, it could affect your sites performance. Changing it at the web part level overrides the site setting. I'd be careful to change it for the whole site.

Regarding your issue at hand yet, do you have an ORDER BY set in that webpart? If so, remove it. Also clear the cache in the website and ensure you have more than one item in the content tree.
