Page type issue

Manoj Meena asked on April 22, 2019 13:34

I created a new page X with an existing page type A and the page X shows in the navigation panel we have. Now I wanted page X to have its own page type, so i created a page type B and assigned X to B. But the page X doesn't show up in the navigation panel when i use page type as B. I also tried cloning page type A to B and also added B to web part which controls the navigation panel.

I guess navigation has page type filter set up. Go to Design tab of the page, where navigation is implemented, find navigation web part (repeater, hierarchical viewer, etc.) open settings of the web part and see if it has page type specified - if so, add you new page type there.

I added the page type to the navigation web part page type option, but the page still doesn't show up in the navigation panel

Is transformation compatible with new page type?

Also if you've just added it you might not see it because of caching - try clearing Kentico cache.

I cleared the cache, but the page still doesn't show.

I am not aware of the transformation compatibility, can you please enlighten me?

At lease fields' names should match. For example transformation contains macro to show up doc name {%Name%}, but new page type has no 'Name' column.

Other ideas of what might be wrong: - have you checked where condition of the navigation? - go to your new page type -> General tab and make sure Behaves as Page (menu item) type check box is checked

Behaves as Page (menu item) type check box is checked for the page type, but still the page doesn't show

I'd suggest checking the navigation webpart to see if there are any categories assigned or a special where condition in it to only get specific pages with a field name = some other value.
