New Install of V13 database outside of the wizard

Daniel Main asked on August 1, 2022 19:52

Looking for some assistance.

We are in the process of working out how we are going to upgrade from V12 to V13. it looks perfect to start fresh. however running into one issue:

The DBA has things locked down pretty tight, no creating new tables.

Is there a way to get them the scripts, or will they just need to run the install them selves?

For Kentico Xperience to work correctly the application will need full admin rights to the database. To read / write / delete objects as you use the tool. I would push back and get access to create objects.

To perform upgrade, you need to have basically the full rights - you could use different user account in the connection string just for the upgrade and then revert it back and maybe follow the minimal secure configuration docs.

I was able to convince the DBA, apparently the V12 login had creation rights were he missed giving it to the V13.
