Modal window in form controls

In some form controls like media selector or universal selector after button click the new modal window appear. User can choose elements he/she wish and close the window and save everything in form control. I'd like to create similar mechanism programmatically but I don't know how should i start.

Is this something you want to do within the Kentico UI or within a page on your site? If the Kentico UI, then just create the controls or pages as explained in the version you're using documentation. If within your site, you'd need to use some jQuery plugin or some other ajax control toolkit plugin to accomplish this.

I need this for field of page type. I've search documentation but there are only simple examples. I can't find anything about modal windows in form controls.
