Master Page corrupt

Hi Guys,

My home page stops displying content suddenly, after investigation i realized that the issue comes from the Master Page, by cloning it started to display the content. When i checked the design tab of the MP all the webparts display message (Not in layout) no indicators on the event log, so my question is : what could be the cause of this? how those webparts were detached from the layout , I want to clarify that no manual manipulation is the cause.

This happens when you change the HTML markup of the template (a Master Page is also just a template). If that template had Web Parts appointed to zones that are now missing you'll see the above.

Did you by any change copy, ran an import or deploy the Root page of your website? If you check via Properties the Template section of the page that didn't work anymore there is probably none or the wrong Template selected.

Based on your screenshot, it is happened with the following -

Modified ZoneID form Master page Layout
Removed Zone from Master page Layout

Resolution -

Option 1. If you are enable versioning then you can revert this from previous version

Option 2. You need to create New master Page with desired zones and copy web parts from corrupted Master page and paste on new master page by zone wise.
