Christopher Brisley asked on July 23, 2014 05:34

I followed the instructions as mentioned in the upgrade manual. After upgradation, I got the following screen:

After system logon, I got the following error:

As per the Document,

Kentico 8 setup files The upgrade converts your web projects to Kentico version 8.0, but does not provide the associated setup files. To obtain the installer and setup files for Kentico 8: Download the Kentico 8 installer Run Kentico_8_0.exe. Read and accept the License Terms and Conditions and click Custom installation. Select Install only program files and click Install.

Question is that do I need to merge the files? My Kentico directory structure is as follows:

Please suggest.

After upgrade, I got the following message

The upgrade files were copied into the target directory with the '.new' extension. Merge your custom changes into these files and remove the '.new' extensions afterwards.

Hello Christopher,

is this still issue or have you been able to fix already?

Did you try to apply the latest hotfix for Kentico 8 too?

Best regards, Martin
