Kentico Import Toolkit

Is it possible to use the Import Toolkit to import data into a custom module from an excel spreadsheet? I tried modifying the config file to include the module under objects, but throwing an error.

I would import directly into SQL table using SQL import/export wizard

I second what Peter M states. If they don't have any special link to a page type or other system table, then there is no reason to use the KIT.
